Modern Classical Repertoire
I've really been delving into classical guitar music for the past five years. I come from a rock n' roll, jazz background and I keep finding my classical ear drawn to the more modern 20th century classical guitar music.
Giacomo's post in another thread inspired me to create another addressing modern repertoire music. Some of the more modern cds I enjoy:
And now I'm off to order the Tannenbaum and Korhonen cds recommended by Giacomo! Any other modern repertoire enthusiasts on the forum? Fred |

Dogsnax,
I'm afraid this is far from a popular genre. I found that people can sometimes be reached by playing these things live and "drawing them in" into the unique world each piece creates through a bit of contextualization, information, explanation... I'm glad you're as excited about this stuff as I am tough. Feel free to talk about it at all times - I'll echo! |
