Whatcha listening to?

Interestingly enough, something triggered a look back into my history and I looked up Glass Harp's Synergy from 1971. For those who don't know, Glass Harp was Phil Keaggy's band back then. That was a period of just about unbridled creativity.

It's always fun digging out old albums and reminding yourself why you used to like them so much, isn't it? As to what I'm listening to these days...for the last week or so, I've been listening to the free album that you can download on Joe Bonamassa's website. You can get it here: https://jbonamassa.com/

Lately, a little Gershwin.

Jason Isbell's new record. Trying to like it as much as his last two, that is a tall order.

Dustin Furlow's record (found him here on the AGF).

Pete Huttlinger, Stephen Bennett, Glenn Roth, John Hurt.

Making a conscious effort to listen to some recent stuff, or at least stuff that is new to me. It is way too easy to leave the XM on one or 2 channels all the time....

Chet Baker, Live at the Moonlight. Wow.

And a lot of Ralph Towner. Been going back to "Timeline," again, that record is just perfect.

At the moment, Jacintha - Here's to Ben (tribute to Ben Webster). After that, I have some Earl Klugh teed up.

I'm still living on island time. I've discovered the Aloha Joe radio channels on the TuneIn app. We have them running all day at home. Enjoyed seeing Jeff Peterson concert locally last Saturday night. Aloha.

Chris Stapleton - "What are you listening to?"

Really

I went back and listened to Dan Fogelberg's "The Innocent Age". One of his best musically and lyrically. "The Reach" is probably my favorite cut, then the title cut and "The Sand and the Foam", and his duet with Emmy Lou on "Only the Heart My Know". "Nexus" has some fine twelve string work on that cut.

Pretty mellow stuff, but I've been feeling mellow lately.

I was fortunate enough to see Dan Fogelberg in concert many years ago when I was in college. Boy what a talented guy. He was a true triple threat...excellent songwriter, exceptional voice and a gifted multi instrument musician.

He died too young, but he left us an impressive catalogue of good music to enjoy forever.
