Young at Heart

Here's a new tune, written for my 84-year-old mother who informs me that among her countless other projects she has just started a hiking club . The woman is an amazing example of healthy aging!

So, I had to call the tune Young at Heart, of course. A bit of a departure for me musically, fun to do...see what y'all think.

Young at Heart

I like the song (the electric took me by surprise - in a good way). The recording quality on the acoustic isn't up to your normal level.

Interesting you say so - I was conducting a fiendish miking experiment, mixing one of those Naiant omnis in with my usual array. The other big difference is that I was using 80/20 strings on my Lowden instead of the usual pb's - I find the sound a little brittle. Is that what you were hearing?

Yep. It seems overly bright and really weak on the low end. I did an A/B with your CD and there is no comparison.

I'll try bringing up the Naiant and ADK or EQing the low end a tad.

Looking forward to hearing it.

I'm not familiar with the Naiant. How do you like it?

Haven't used it enough to have a well-grounded opinion, but for whatever it cost (like $30 or something silly-cheap like that) it sounds pretty d**m convincing. I just wanted to add an omni to my kit so I bought two of them after a lot of people raved about them here. I see now that they've widened their product line: Naiant. Of course it's not a 414 or anything, but for the money......woo hoo!
