Today's work begins with fitting the heel to the body. The curves must match perfectly. Video
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...767889_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...89a42b_o_d.jpg I suggested a heel cap inlay of abalone. I love the way Tim has implemented it. It's one of the small details but check out way he surrounds the cap with Sapele. Next, setting the neck alignment is crucial. There was some celebration in the shop when the neck showed perfect alignment to the body centerline.

Great idea on the heelcap, Dennis--looks awesome!
|
That heel-cap is really classy! I love it!
It's amazing to watch the precision with which Tim works. Program Note: I've added a new item to the McJam schedule: Mary singing "Delta Dawn." I, for one, am really looking forward to this!! It would be perfect if you accompany her on the Skinny Slope Dread Dennis! AND, a kazoo solo by all the McJammers. |

It is a work of art, Dennis. You and Tim have done very well.
I keep having this song in my head now and it’s not going away. If it is still there in June I’ll invite Nancy and Kathy to join me in singing it. We can become known as a new hot Chic group called “the McJam Sister’s Three.” That is only if you pay us enough. We won’t be cheap! |
Man, that is just beautiful work Tim!
On another note (pun intended)... we've gone from "not gonna happen" to "if you pay me enough and I have singing partners, I might sing Delta Dawn." That is real progress. By the time McJam 13 rolls around, Mary will be doing an entire set! I have some suggestions! I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman Wild Thing Anybody else have song suggetions? |
