They didn't per se, but they did produce a few short-scale G-5 cutaways that would, at the urging of guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, form the basis for the iconic Gibson Byrdland - here's an example:

That's one of the Korean versions from about 10 years ago - but for the headstock and tailpiece (and the elevated price tag) it could be an Epiphone Joe Pass or Swinger...
