The first day of waiting is pretty manageable. You get to see the guitar leaving Ireland. You might replay the shipping video a few dozen times.
Then it goes to Heathrow sometimes as early as the next day or maybe several days. After that it just disappears for a while. You finally have your new EF number, but nothing is happening. On Monday (5 days in for you) you might hear through the Forum of others getting their guitars while yours is still stuck in Heathrow according to the tracking number. Or has it left? No updates and not in the USPS system yet. Maybe tomorrow...
But let's back up. You are still on your first day. The best thing to do is leave the kitchen and stop waiting for the water to boil. It'll happen in it's own sweet time and maybe by Monday or Tuesday you'll get an update that your guitar is suddenly at the NYC USPS facility after 4 days of nothing though you must have updated the tracking website myriad times. Now you have to decide whether it was stuck in customs or just now entering customs.
Eventually your mailman will bring an expedited package to your door to sign over to you. As you scurry away with your precious you will then almost immediately begin to forget that there ever was this purgatory where you even tried to cleanse your soul through multiple expiations to whomever you think might listen.
Let's just say I have an overactive imagination. It's only the first day of waiting after all. You will do fine.
