Joe Satriani - Tears In The Rain - Video

Hi everybody!

This is a video I recorded today of my personal rendition of Joe Satriani's "Tears In The Rain" from the 1992 album "The Extremist". I find it a very nice little piece with certain similarities to some classical guitar studios.

I hope someone finds it of interest over here!

Best,
Anatol.

That's a lovely rendition of a lovely tune!

A side of Satriani many are unaware of...

Thanks for the feedback!

He does have some little gems like this throughout his different albums.

Best
A.

Hi Anatol,
really really beautiful.... and a great idea to move it from Satriani´s electric guitar to a classical guitar - what brings a special feeling for this tune. I also could imagine it with a little bit of a reverb for the sound....
but your interpretation is really great !!! - congratulations !!

greetings from Germany - Gerhard

HI Anatol - I have to say that I did learn this as a result of your post over on DELCAMP but I really struggled with the dropped D.

In the end I play it in standard, which is what I think Satriani does?
Drop D sounds great on nylon but man some of those dusty end fingerings get very tricky. Better leave that to those with the skills, like you!

Cheers,
Steve
