Partial Re-fret Question

When doing a partial refret, is it possible to somehow level off the replacement frets with the original frets without leveling off the entire fingerboard? Can you somehow file down several frets accurately without filing down all the frets?

A PLEK could do it, in fact I believe it would have to as it is programmed to lower everything to the lowest common denominator. If your “other” frets are so low that it is an issue, it seems to me they are too low and you’d be better off replacing them all.

Yes, do it all the time

That is part of a partial re-fret. If we are going to level the whole board then you just cut out all the wear.

I usually end up tapering off into a few of he existing frets but yeah you don't need to do the whole fretboard.
