Drop filling
How long should I wait after drop filling lacquer in a small ding to sand and buff out?
Thanks |
Depending on heat and humidity, somewhere around a week or more.

I would put it on the "never get round to it" list!

Like asking how many licks to the center of a tootsie pop
Was the lacquer right out of the can or jelled? The biggest problem with lacquer drop fills isn't waiting for it to harden enough to cut and buff, it's out waiting the shrink back inherent in the product. Most chemical drying processes take on the order of 28-30 days to run their entire thing at the molecular level so I wait at least 1 month.... |
That's what I needed to hear. This is a dropped and filled area I did a year ago and it needs it again. Probably only a 64th or less deep but now but I can feel it.
thanks all |
