Once again, Tom's fabulous show approaches.
And once again, we're straining to make our deadlines.
We'll show progress shots as we have some photo-worthy stages, but this shot hopefully will whet some appetites.

You can probably guess the species used, yes?

Stay tuned...

Thanks Tom, now all we have to do is put some guitars under them!

Bill Kraus 01-06-2020 07:33 PM

Nice color on those bridges.

cigarfan 01-07-2020 02:54 AM

Those bridges look schweeet! :)

Daveac 01-07-2020 09:06 AM

Hmmm, a pyramid bridge, it seems a 00 might be in the works?

j. Kinnaird 01-07-2020 09:16 AM

Good looking bridge brother but you better get to it. BIG is just around the corner.

Dave, right you are. The Claro walnut back pictured above is being made into a double "Oh"! You might like it, ya know!

Thanks for the pressure-free reminder. But I think it's going to work out.
Once again, fingers crossed.

j. Kinnaird 01-07-2020 08:01 PM

Is that a koa center strip? Will the binding match that?

Yes indeed, brother. Curly Koa all around. It pulls out the golds in that walnut, and gives some domestic "shazaam" as accent.

Hey Dave, thought you might like this one. We hope not to disappoint!

Steve

David Wren 01-08-2020 10:33 AM

Love that Claro Steve!

TomB'sox 01-08-2020 10:38 AM

OK, even that I know what it is now, I still feel like I have never seen anything like that before!

Nemoman 01-08-2020 10:46 AM

That's some crazy walnut guys--can't wait to see this one!

One more shot for the day. These two necks pair with the two bridges pictured upstream:

TomB'sox 01-09-2020 01:16 PM

Since I flunked out on the Claro, what woods are on the headstocks? I have a feeling if we know that, we might just know what the back and sides are made from?

Nemoman 01-09-2020 01:46 PM

I know one...

Well I know the upper one is Claro! :D

Kevin is correct, top headstock is Claro burl. Bottom is Dalbergia Nacogdochia, or the rosewood formerly known as Brazilian.
And yes, they correspond to their respective body woods.

Steve

SJ VanSandt 01-10-2020 04:59 AM

What's the neck wood on the top one, Steve? Maybe it's just the light, but it doesn't look like mahogany. Can't wait for the next reveal!

Daveac 01-10-2020 08:27 AM

Soooo, since we know the crazy Walnut is going to be a 00, when do we get a hint what the Brazilian Rosewood will be???

Right you are, it's walnut. Curly Black walnut, with a curly mahog center lam.
That should tie in nicely with the curly Koa bindings.
