Zoom Q2n 4k HDMI out

I haven't found a definitive answer to this question... I've just ordered a Zoom Q2n 4K that I'll be using for quick audio/video recording. I'm curious as to whether one can use the HDMI output directly into a MacBook Pro as a means of live monitoring while recording. Can this be done, and if so is it possible using one of the applications in the Mac OS or is something else required?

Thanks for any insights.

AFAIK, The HDMI functions of a MacBook Pro are OUTPUT only, so no, you can't use your MacBook as a monitor. Why not pick up a small TV monitor with HDMI inputs? Less than $150.

Thanks for your reply. I've been doing a bit more digging around and found exactly the situation you've described. I will look around for a monitor.
