Nick sent me the latest photo with the comment: "I’m having déjà vu I looked at this scene 2 1/2 weeks ago" The spruce is actually not so yellow, it's quite white.

This is the pick guard that Nick thought went well on the guitar. It's not glued on yet, just resting in place on the top for the moment. Nick sat a "Woody Mann" bridge below it to complete the picture, although I'm actually getting a regular belly bridge. This photo gives a better idea of the pale color of the unfinished spruce.

It looks like it’s on fire. I dig it!

This is Woody's Franklin -- many unique details on it in addition to the bridge.

(Belly) Bridge glued on. Nick is planning to string the guitar up tonight to see how it sounds before the varnish is applied.

Thanks! I really like the pickguard too. I've been having fun posting about the build. I wanted to convey something of how personally invested Nick is in his guitars (and as far as he's concerned, they remain his guitars -- we are just allowed to steward them for him), as well as following the functional and mechanical aspects of the build. Nick is a master craftsman, but he has the sensibility of an artist as well towards his work.

Just lounging around...

The jumbo relaxing in Nick's shop. The frets are in. They still need to be dressed, the ends shaped, etc. Nick says the guitar is really alive sounding!

It is really exciting to see it coming together into such a sweet instrument. I only wish I could get my hands on it!

That's looking truly outstanding! I really love the rosette he does with the diamonds. Super cool.
