I made an album

My apocalyptic love song, Until The Sun Destroys The Earth, is out today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vknKFaWzr0k

A song about wanting a second to last a million years. For Natasha.

I hope you like it.

I don't think I've posted here since I released my new album, so there's a load of new videos here https://www.youtube.com/jongomm and you can listen to the album on the usual streaming platforms via this link: https://jongomm.lnk.to/TheFaintestIdea

Really good, Jon.

Regarding the Sun, :D I recently learned that since the Sun is losing mass all the time, the Earth orbit is slowly widening -- getting further from the Sun. So hopefully by the time the Sun evolves into a red giant in about 5 billion years, the Earth will be far enough away so that it won't be enveloped by the expanding Sun (as traditional wisdom surmised). Actually, hopefully Earth's orbit recedes well before 3 billion years, since the Sun will also be getting about 40% hotter by that time, and Earth's oceans would boil at our current distance.

I bought the album.

The atmosphere of the album is reminiscent of Kenny Rankin's "Silver Morning" album.

Very nice in all aspects. Thanks for sharing.

Jon,
Good to see an hear you’re still tearing things up sonically!
Have you sent a copy to the Minor 7th yet?

You have a new fan, Jon. You get such a cool, bluesy feel from your left hand.
Great song!

Loved that. Especially how you seamlessly blended so many guitar styles and tones (tapping, strumming, picking, etc). Great tone, super vocals and compelling lyrics.

Thanks for posting!

Cheers,

Dave

Great song!

I'm trying really hard to achieve that, thanks for noticing! It's really hard to add expression when you're not picking/plucking. I try really hard to avoid every note sounding the same, so I add as many little slides and slurs as possible, so it still sounds like guitar playing, ya know?

I have another new video from the album out today - fingerstyle guitar instrumental groove-based-lullaby ‘Check You’re Still Breathing’

Guitar Tab is in the store at jongomm.com

Hope some of you dig this one too. Thanks for all the feedback so far, it means a lot to know there's people out there beyond the walls of pandemic isolation.

And another new song up today. It's about living in a city, being intensely aware you're one of millions of strangers who'll never know each other, but are all affecting each other in unknowable ways.
