In the hands of a master

Here's Michael Chapdelaine, playing John Monteleone's Blue Rocket Convertible. A bunch of the guitars were dropped off at his home, and Michael did the audio and video recording by himself. I'm certain the guitars were properly strung with medium gauge strings.

Next time you think 2.125" string spacing at the bridge is too narrow.......

Search Michael Chapdelaine Blue Guitars on Youtube to see a bunch of the others. He's as good as it gets.

Very nice. I’ve been binging all the Blue Guitar videos on YouTube the past couple months. Real treasures.

Wonderful instrument played beautifully! Just watched the new Monteleone documentary. The guitars in it are perfectly recorded. Julian Lage in particular, and also by Alan Haddad, the owner of the Sun King.

Richard,
Alan Haddad is soooooo good! I've known him about as long as he's been a customer of John's. He's also one of the nicest, humble human beings walking the face of the earth!

His feature in the film is really one of the stand-out moments for me!

beyond impressive.

Howard, Yes! Alan Haddad is one of those people whose *soul* comes through in their playing. That’s a surprisingly rare thing, especially for guitar which throws up so many obstacles to pure expression.

An MC video pretty much always makes my day.

While he's playing with his fingers and not a pick, these videos he's done playing classical pieces on steel string archtops remind me a bit of the "plectrum guitar" stuff of old.

Monteleone's guitars are true functional art at the highest level. The sound here is just wonderful.

This is awesome, going to find more on YT. Thanks for posting Howard.

Much of his gear was stolen a few years back. That included this Kevin Muiderman he had high praise for.
