Sweetwater making it easy to buy Gibson; new 335 coming

tomorrow and I'm stoked! 4 years 0% interest. Yes, the interest charges are built into the selling price, yada yada, but I got an excellent price on this guy, a demo unit, and paying for it will be close to painless. It'll be good company for my just-arrived SG. Thanks for looking!

Nice ax! Black isn't usually my thing, but it looks great on that guitar.

That 0% interest thing is a pretty good deal...I've used it on a few items from Sweetwater, just because the monthly payment was less than I spend on things like coffee each month, so...completely painless. The companies that participate in the promotional interest rate sales are some pretty heavy hitters, too...Gibson, Taylor, PRS, et al.

I've paid them down for a couple of years and then just paid it off...(my wife got tired of writing those little checks each month when she sits down to pay the bills.)

You just have to be certain that you don't get behind...once you miss a payment, the interest rate kicks in and it's a whopper! Usurious, even...

Old Roy certainly thought so:

Now you just have to learn how to sing like him...

Very nice! Simply elegant I’d say. I love Sweetwater. We don’t use CC but I often use their 3 pay (same as cash...+ a $10 “processing fee”). I’ve done quite a bit of business with them so the fee is washed out with a decent discount.

As Max mentioned...the APR is brutal if a payment is missed. Also, if there happens to be a balance after 4 years, I believe all 4 years of interest gets tacked on.

Congrats on the new Gibby. Keep us posted!

Just got a call yesterday from Sweetwater, new sales rep in the house making contact. Bought lots of stuff from them, (acoustic pick ups, pedals, mixers, guitars) Real nice outfit...made good on a damaged guitar...sent new one right away..no time lag..just outstanding service. :)

Nice. I'm trying to decide on a Epiphone Dot or Casino.

Take a Korean-made Gretsch 5422 Electromatic for a side-by-side A/B test drive before you decide on the Casino - similar price/weight, far better QC/playability (comparable to many guitars at 3-4 times the price), and of course the inimitable "great Gretsch sound"... :guitar:

Nice looking rig Eljay!

It arrived on time and it's quite an ax! SW did a great job on the setup; it's one of the most playable electrics I've experienced. Tone is to die for, too. I had a Satin 335 a while back and I was never that wowed by it.

I guess the '57 Classics in the Satin just don't measure up to the MHS II things in the new dot. Was toying with the idea of a 335 Studio but I'm glad I sprung for the more upscale unit.

Still trying to get used to the weight of electrics after spending the last four years playing acoustic. I always play sitting down, acoustic or electric, so the extra weight of the electrics is manageable but noticeable.

Gotta kool it with the GAS, now! :guitar:
