PRIMO 1996 Taylor Custom K15c All Koa. SOLD

SPECTACULAR 1996 CUSTOM ALL KOA JUMBO

Incoming JK custom so this needs to go. A LOT OF GUITAR, AND READY TO RIP!

SOLD ON REVERB

Specs:
1.75" Nut, 2,3/16" string spacing at the Taylor bone Saddle
25.5" string scale
17" Lower Bout, 12 1/8" Upper Bout, 9 7/8" at the curvy waist
3.75" deep at neck heel. 4.5" deep at butt.
Body is 20 7/8" long.
Action is about 5/64 at Big E, 4/64" at small e.
Minimal neck relief and the neck angle is perfect. Saddle is showing 10/64" above the bridge. So correct height to Taylor specs.

Back from Taylor Repair, (12/7/20). I had the barely perceptible seam finish separation filled and buffed. Now REALLY near invisible and almost impossible to feel. Pat Quinn also buffed up up a couple minor dings, although there are still minor signs of being played.

Monster 96 Taylor CUSTOM all Koa Jumbo in spectacular condition and just set up and dialed in by Pat Quinn. Senior repair tech at Taylor guitars in El Cajon !

I have sold a good number of these 94-99 Taylors here. Always after having them setup and dialed in by either Tim Luranc, or lately Pat Quinn, since Tim is now retired. These gents are the BEST at Taylor setups and repair.
Everyone who has bought one of mine has commented on the ease of playability and the Tone as well.

Reverb listing tells ALL ABOUT IT with lots of pics.

Happy Sunday to all

Saturday bump

Up from page four...

Here is something you do NOT see often! Not just the guitar...

Cindy is telling me I should KEEP this! Am I fortunate or what??? And Cindy can SING BEAUTIFULLY, too.

This is in the top three old Taylors I have ever played. And I have played HUNDREDS!
The TONE is otherworldly. It responds wonderfully to bare fingers, as well when whacked with a pick or my thumbpick and finger picks. Sounds and plays GREAT tuned down to D or even drop C.
And it is spectacularly beautiful.

Full disclosure here:
It does have a very well Repaired and cleated old top separation, which was not disclosed when I bought it. Sigh... but the seam is nice and tight and almost invisible. As shown in the Reverb pics.
Pat Quinn gave it a clean bill of health. This is all in the Reverb ad, but thought I should mention it here too!

The very similar (but NT neck KLSM) models from 2000 are going for considerably MORE $$$

Everyone have a fine Saturday!

Hawaiian!!

Hey Paul

That’s an amazing Hawaiian guitar!!

Looks are of very fine ribboned koa woods
Love that well broken in tone.

Your wife’s correct...keep um. It’s too good of an instrument tp let go.
Aloha brah,
Alan

Back...

Thanks Alan! This sounds so sweet!!!

I've played hundreds and hundreds of old Taylors. It does NOT get better than this. Seriously, this is a LOT of prime Koa.

Ridiculous good setup! UNBELIEVABLE BEAUTIFUL ! Huge WARM BALANCED TONE, AND LOUD, TOO!

I have enjoyed this a LOT, but I am 5'10" with small hands. Love the neck carve, and TONE/Volume but the long scale and 14 fret geometry just don't work as well as they used to for me. Sigh...

Reasonable offers considered

She's baaaaack

Back from Taylor Repair El Cajon

Even more spiffy than before.

Top seam finish separation is dang near gone. A few less minor dings too.

I will gladly listen to reasonable offers! HIT ME.... haha

Everybody stay vigilant, stay well, and have fun! We are the lucky ones! We get to make music

Back in the day, I heard that R Taylor went to Hawaii for the specific purpose to select koa wood for these guitar’s.

Bump

True Alan. And now Taylor owns a Koa plantation and is doing a lot of re-forestation in Hawaii I believe!

Thanks for the kind words Mike/Woody, and right back at ya, my friend!

This would make a sweet pair with the similar Koa 12 string that just went up FS here today.

Time for a bump anyway, and why not???

What a gorgeous guitar, Paul! And having played a number of your instruments, bought one from you, and having Pat set mine up as well, I know how stellar this beauty must be to play!

Great seller here people! This one is a bit too big for me to handle, but whoever ends up with this one will, I'm sure, be thrilled! GLWS!!

Thanks Beth

Thanks for the kind words, Beth! Yes, Pat Quinn setups are as good as it gets.
This Oldie but Goodie is ready to rip.
Frankly I am really surprised it is still here. And if I had lots of room and moolah I would seriously consider keeping this and even doubling down on the matching 12 string up FS here too!
Link to the 12, just for fun: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=604311
I hope the Seller does not mind. These would be such a pair!
This spectacular Koa is NOT easy to find anymore and about as expensive as prime BRW!
Mike is right. This is a LOT of good stuff...
