Only the best materials at Dutch Luthier.
The compositie unibody for the Hybrid 2.0 acoustic guitar will never carry loads like a rotor blade or an aircraft wing so it is over engineered and will last longer then the lifetime of the customer. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CiW1b_hXEAAx7PC.jpg:large What is this?! It looks like a face! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CiW1bcPXAAAnStR.jpg:large Those are 2 electric ovens on top of the enclosed plug tot post cure the Aero space gelcoat that will become the actual molds surface. With thermometers in the side! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CiW1cA4WgAIX6XR.jpg:large |

Aero space gelcoat
https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...32385942_o.jpg Added an epoxy dye consistant with the Dutch Luther brand (Dutch people love orange). https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...70634871_o.jpg First batch of gelcoat, don`t think i will mix 1 kilo. It can actually combust into toxic gas and fire. I had this once, it melted through the bottom of the container, it`s scary. https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...02810662_o.jpg Checking the temperature of the applied aerospace gelcoat. https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...40809011_o.jpg The full plug is covered by doing it in 3 stages. https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...12402583_o.jpg |
This has been a great thread, so much so that your responses are up to over 300 posts. It has been our habit here at AGF to lock such threads and ask that you start a "custom CF Wood hybrid Part 2" thread which makes it much less cumbersome. Thank you and looking forward to following along with the next installment.
Edit: here's the link to the new thread: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...23#post4943623 |
