Recommend a stereo mic bar?

The one I ran over to GC and grabbed cheap is a little limiting. Hard to adjust the height so the coincident capsules are above each other. I’m using a pair of AT4041s so those are the American not Euro threads though some come with adapters. Just a home bedroom hobbyist so rugged road worthy isn’t a requirement.

Rode has a stereo bar that has a height offset adjustment for X-Y. It’s around $40-50. It’s wide enough for ORTF, but not very wide for spaced pair. You may need 3/8” to 5/8” adapters

Not quite clear on what you are saying

Do you mean you got a stereo bar at GC, but the mic mount clips your using are hard to adjust the height on ??
Didn't the AT's come with the mounting clips that you can rotate the angle of to facilitate having one mic go slightly over the other, for coincident position ????

Maybe if you could post a photo showing what you have now it would be more clear

You are correct and I’m having a DOH! moment. But they are fixed distance but spaced pair and it’s inherent phase issues isn’t for me, now.

Maybe beyond what you're looking for, but you can go the D.I.Y. route if you happen to work with wood. This "mount" can position the mics in a variety of configurations.

The Grace Spacebar is amazing in terms of quality, security and repeatability, but it will set you back several hundred dollars!

I recently got this inexpensive Lewitt stereo bar that is well-enough made. To get the vertical offset for XY, I got this set of mic stand adapters. The two of them screwed together gave enough height for one mic to clear the other.

It's not wide enough for spaced pair, although for that, I'm not sure I'd want one bar anyway. A couple of short stands allow flexibility in spacing and height without getting in the way too much.

I came up with this to use the Rode stereo bar for spaced pair to get a little more distance
I was using the computer camera and decided from that camera angle two mic stands would just be more visual clutter The photo angle is a bit deceptive I think I am getting about 16-18 inches of separation at the actual ribbons

I use two floor stand mic holders. It gives me greater flexibility as far as placement. If I want to do XY, no problem, but I generally space the mics.

Things are working out with the XY using the individual tilts. Looking at the room… This will take some rearranging and organizing before treating. But these AT4041s are miles ahead of the SM57 and AT2020 I tried for years. Now the room and my playing are the focus. Thanks!

If you're "frugal", have some extra schedule 80 plumbing pipe and some rubber bands you can do a D.I.Y. thang...
