This really is a beautiful guitar, Zach.

Looks great, but I have to ask, has something happened to the join between the two halves on the front? In the earlier photos, you cannot see the join, these last couple of photos really seem to stand out.
|
I would think that, if you couldn't see the join before, Zach was having trouble seeing it himself. So, to simplify whatever he's going to do next, he's drawn a pencil line down the centre.

Haha, Dave is right. The joint is much easier to see when it's drawn in pencil. I am really picky about my top and back joints, they have to be perfect or I won't be able to sleep at night. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You're right Dave, thanks for the clarification. It's just pencil! :P Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Practise run for the guitar... I'd rather not practise on the guitar itself for pretty obvious reasons. Everything went well so here goes!! More pictures to follow. Thanks for following along! -Zach Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Side view after a second session of French polish. The first session always needs about a week to dry because in that week the shellac will slowly sink back into the pores - I don't want that to happen weeks or months after the guitar is completed and polished! So here we go, back into French polishing mode and back to making progress on this guitar! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Lookin' great Zach!

Neck has been glued on, fretboard has been planed, frets installed and dressed... she's coming along nicely! Today I'll be gluing on the bridge and tomorrow - strings!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks Ryosuke! As far as I can tell the colour stays the same once it has dried out. Now that it's sealed under French polish it definitely shouldn't change at all. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Call me a fan of that rosette too! It has like a blurred metallic look to it. I also like the way you chamfered the sound hole too, nice look to it. Great looking guitar.
