Emerald Import Tax?

I just ordered an Emerald X7. What can I expect to pay in import tax/duty into the US?

I ordered an X7 three years ago, and I didn't pay any taxes or duties...

Supposed to be zero rated. Didn't get charged anything on the Chimaera last month.

I paid no taxes or duties on mine late last year.

Two guitars shipped from Emerald in Ireland to US last year, no taxes or duties on either...

No duties when I’ve received an Emerald at my winter home in Florida. The last one I bought, an X20 was shipped to my home in Canada. My research suggested that with the free-trade agreement between my country and Ireland, I wouldn’t be charged any customs fees. Well, that didn’t end-up being true. Quite a hefty charge, which I appealed, got some $ back, but it was still a good sum that I hadn’t expected. Good thing I like the guitar.

4 Emeralds imported between 2013 and 2019, have never been charged import tax. It seems like occasionally people get hit with tax, but I strongly believe that only happens when someone at the PO makes a mistake.

Ditto. None on four new Emerald purchases so far. There was a thread here about 18-24 months ago (?) where a US member was hit with import duty right at the end of a calendar year, perhaps anticipating a change in the law, but he filed an appeal. I'm not sure if he got his money back (don't recall a follow-up post closing the loop) but it is a mistake between Ireland and the US. YMMV with other countries that have different treaties and tax laws.

I’m in Canada. I got nailed for GST (goods & service tax) and PST (provincial sales tax) when my X20 came. It was about a $400 touch.

Thanks for all the responses!
That’s good news!
