Sounds like a beauty Matt. Carolyn and the SCGC team are great to work with. What’s the expected delivery date?
|
Yes they are! Carolyn is always a treat to work with, as we've done MANY custom guitars for the shop over the years. I thought it was finally time to own a Santa Cruz myself, and I've always really loved the FS models, and the story behind them. I'm expecting to see it sometime this summer (hopefully early summer!).

A mahogany FS!! Thats gonna be a real treat - can't wait til you can show us pics!!
|
Matt! How lovely to see you here!
Congrats on the SCGC FS, sounds like it will be a wonderful guitar for you and I look forward to watching the build progress. All the best MDW |
Great guitar. Used to own a lovely F model....beautifully balanced tone.
|
Exciting, can't wait to see some pics! Love SCGC...

I love the FS model. And that sounds like a particularly nice one
|
Wonderful specs. Will be fun to watch. Congrats!
|
Sounds good Matt!! I guess your statement that the bearded hog Bourgeois guitar is pretty much your only instrument has long been forgotten :)
Congratulations!! |

The space for fine new instruments has apparently grown, but I'm not complaining. |
SCGC FS
I bought a new FS about a year ago to tide me over while I waited for my custom OMG build. If it were my only guitar, I would consider myself lucky. I play mostly open tunings/Celtic, and it excels. Then a few JT covers, and you'd think it an Olsen. Great guitar. Great choice, Matt.

This will be fun!
Can't wait for pics! Congrats on a boss build.
Enjoy the process... And stay musical Paul |
So the start date for this one was kicked back a bit because Santa Cruz was waiting for some custom purfling from a supplier for longer than expected. Nonetheless, it has started!
Red spruce braces being secured to an awfully nice looking Moon spruce top. More updates to come... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/wV...w1432-h1908-no |
A few pics showing the custom blue/maple headstock and fingerboard purflings - as well as the Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer, fingerboard and bindings.
I couldn't possible be any happier with how the blue/maple looks against the beautiful Brazilian!! https://i.ibb.co/qD3Lswf/IMG-6532.jpg https://i.ibb.co/GRdhSQZ/IMG-6535.jpg https://i.ibb.co/5jKJqgR/IMG-6536.jpg https://i.ibb.co/vcKr1hH/IMG-6537.jpg |
