This guitar enthusiastically responds to every strum with vibrations that can be felt through the back. A honeycomb pattern of hex pockets is routed into the top and back to lighten it and carbon fiber reinforced braces are used to ensure maximum stability and strength. These pieces capture the tone of the wood and reflect black walnut’s excellent middle frequencies.

Set up to have low action, the medium thick D profile neck makes a smooth playing experience. Japanese Gotoh 510 tuners are used for a smooth tuning experience and produce a guitar that stays in tune. Raise the action to where you prefer in seconds, the neck joint is another innovation of Portland Guitar. It is cantilevered against the body with the fretboard rising over the top so that the tilt of the neck can be easily changed by the user. A hex key is inserted into a hole in the heel stock and with a small turn allows small changes to the action.

In tune all the way up the fretboard. Our patented bridge has superior intonation to a standard compensated saddle bridge. Each string sits on a separate saddle that can be moved back and forth. The saddles stay in place with a spring underneath to make sure it doesn’t move when the strings are off. They can be pushed back and forth until the compensation is just right. This provides tonal accuracy all the way up the fretboard.

Change your strings with ease with the use of the pin less bridge. They are fed through the bottom of the bridge and held against the wood. This eliminates the need for pins and makes it easy for the ball end to slip in. Never worry about the hassle of a broken string or lost bridge pin again.

The rosette is wood and shell that has been placed on top the wood and glued in.
