What’s it worth

Hey people, I’ve had this Wayne guitar for a few years now, just wondering if anyone has any information on this 1. There isn’t too much info on this brand & I can’t seem to find anything regarding this model either. Wondering if it’s a piece of junk or throw it away? To me it has a nice sound. Any help is welcomed.

It’s a j-19 model

Where is this guitar made, somewhere in Asia?

I'm guessing it's not made by Wayne Charvel:

Wayne appears to be an Australian brand, and the guitars were made in Japan, possibly by Takamine.

Yeah, in Japan as far as I can tell. Guessing at least pre 70s, maybe as early as 40s/50s? Don’t know, it does have the same mountain/volcano label on the inside.

The answer is probably best answered by asking yourself "What would I pay for this?"

Nah, almost certainly from the '70s, possibly from the late '60s, based on the tuners and the fact that that era was a sort of golden age for rebranded Japanese guitars.

There are no hairline cracks or the like anywhere to be seen. Very clean. Anyone know what they’re worth?

you'll find a surprising number of threads on these guitars on this forum.

Probably not much, unless it's all solid wood (I'm guessing it's all laminate), and even then, the brand name is not known well enough to get much interest.

Ok, thanks people. Just wondering.

I've done some research on Wayne guitars over the years.
I still have a D-70 nylon string - my first guitar.

Read post #2 on this thread https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=385727

It was made by Takamine - that mountain on the label represents Mt Takamine in Japan not Mt Fuji - if you read the script on the label the word 'conscience' is misspelt and missing the letter 's'.

Interesting guitars but not really sought after or collectable or valuable.

The 1970's literally had thousands of brands from Japan -
it was the age of cheap guitars from Japan . Many different brands came from the same maker for sales in discount stores
-sometimes a brand youd only ever see once -sometimes for several years ( i had a Heit guitar from this era )
a pretty so-so Electric ( like a red gibson 335 electric ) back then i paid 20 bucks for it -used
prices range from 50 to 150 bucks typically -used but playable
if they have problems their usually not worth fixing.

If you like the guitar , I say keep it , have fun with it -use it for a travel guitar
etc. its nice having something you dont have to worry about.

Thanks guys, good info. Now all that makes me wanna filing out when it was made.Brucebubs, my label is different to yours as well. Doesn’t have ‘electrical Co.’, the stylised ‘W’ in the centre of label or the Takame Gakki Co. on the bottom. Makes me think maybe it’s pre 68’? Isn’t that the year they started labelling their guitars Takame? I live I’m Melbourne, maybe I’ll start going around sum guitar/music shops, see what I can dig up. Thanks guys.
