Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) on Taylor 555ce and VoiceLive 2

My 12 year old son performs live at a 4th of July Celebration.

First time out with VoiceLive 2, and it rocks!

Thanks for watching and commenting!

Can't hear much of the guitar over the wind noise, but your son can sing. I think it is great that you support and encourage your son's interest in music and performing. The self confidence that he gains from this will last a lifetime and serve him well, not to mention the memories you are building with him!

That sound guy needs to turn up his guitar!!

Great singing though! I had been curious as to how the Voice Live 2 performed live. I just hope he can keep that voice even after puberty (not trying to be crude just saying)

mm was hoping the voicelive would sound more natural, sounds really processed but perhaps it's just the recording.

Nice tone to his voice! just gotta keep the tempo heh its wonderful exposure for him though and he's so brave!

@Bob1131 Thanks for the compliment, but thanks especially for pointing out the really important things. In the heat of the moment I often lose focus on that which really counts.

@Will Kirk Thanks!
As much as I would like to blame the guitar volume on the sound guy at the board - I can't.
I can, however, blame it on the guy who did Denton's sound set up - me!

We used the VoiceLive for the guitar effects, so there is only one signal sent to the board. The instrument output level can be adjusted at the unit, but it isn't an "on the fly" adjustment (and, at the moment, beyond the capability of a 12 year old pumped up on the adrenalin of a live performance into which he was thrown 30 minutes before expected). We should have turned the volume of the guitar up at the guitar. (But, Denton's sound guy was a little high on adrenalin himself - because he forgot to set up the camcorder and missed the first 3 songs of the set!).

@hann Thanks for your kind words.
These performances probably aren't the best indicator of VoiceLive 2's capabilities. This was our first performance with the machine, and we only had a few days with it beforehand (and I'm no sound guy - I've never set up, or used, a pedal of any kind before this show). The effects were pretty heavy for this song.
This might be a somewhat better demonstration: Blue Moon.
For comparison, here is how Denton sounds without the VoiceLive: I'm Yours.

Nerves really got to him on the tempo - this song should last about 3:30 minutes, but this performance only lasted 2:18. He did leave a verse off, but it wasn't a 1:12 verse. The tempo, but not necessarily the singing, is better here: Amazing Grace.

Thanks (I think) :hmm:
There are certain benefits to choosing the same hobbies as your old man...
