CA and Canada

Heyo all,

So with my new job, I travel a lot and that to me creates a great excuse to buy something that can withstand it all!

Problem is, I guess when Peavey bought out CA Long & McQuade dropped their line and I have yet to see CA's turn up at Steve's Music.

Does anyone know any dealers in Canada that I could check out for CA guitars? I was originally looking at a RAW RT finish, but I know that the RT isn't an option anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was just looking at CA and Rainsong guitars, and found some on the Axe Music online website. I don't remember the price, though. Do a search for Axe music, and you'll find them. I think they're located in Edmonton or Calgary.

I'd suggest contacting Peavey to get a dealer list. BTW, have you considered Rainsong? They've been around a lot longer so they have a much more extensive dealer network.

I believe Blue Dog Guitars in North Vancouver carries them.

Forgot to add: Blue Dog has Rainsong guitars as well, if that's of interest.

Cosmo music in Richmond Hill Ontario carries Composite Acoustics.

I live in the Ottawa region, and I bought both the CAs I've owned (recently sold the GXi to fund the Emerald 6/12 doubleneck) untried over the internet from Danny Brevard for my Cargo (in Texas I think), then Michael Stone (MacNichol's) for my GXi (in Utah). Both purchases were great. I'm willing to gamble on guitars that I've followed for a while when the reviews are very good, and it's worked well for me. Consistency with CF guitars is more likely than with wood. If you do decide to buy online, you'll be in good ands with either MacNichol, Brevard or Ted @ LA Guitars.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll have to check them out. I'm in the Sask-Ontario regions now and the store at Richmond would be the closet to me.

I honestly haven't looked into them to much due to their price range. I really liked the cargo pricing, but it can't hurt to try it out, right?

We do indeed carry both CA and Rainsong - we have a few Cargo 's in the Raw finish in stock (with and without pickups) and an OX Raw as well.

Then a trip to BC I shall go!
Checking out your website now.

Thanks for the options everyone. Too bad they don't have a wider distribution.

He's the oldest CA dealer in the country.

Axe Music in Edmonton has 2 right now (and lots of rainsongs). I tried a dread that was just incredible. I was actually shocked, I had written off carbon guitars for no particular season other than that they weren't wood, but I loved the tone and playability of this one.

The CA dreads are the CF guitars most likely to convert a wood purist. They look like traditional wood guitars and they actually sound like traditional wood guitars.
