Black and White Ebony "Round Peak"
Yet another Round Peak guitar and yet another Black and white Ebony guitar. Same guitar. This time I did away with the red and black theme and kept it simpler, using just black and white. I have long been an admirer of the older BMW motorcycles that were solid black with white pinstriping. The old prewar Mercedes auto's had that same aesthetic. So here is my take on that.

I am looking at a miter that needs cleaning up, but I guess I'll leave this shot to give an idea of the rosette/purfling theme. |
Looks primo John. I’ll take that Mercedes for a spin.

Wow John, I love the look of this one and will be following along with its progress.

Why thank you Ryan. Very kind of you to say so.

That round peak seems to gaining in popularity. I thought after building you 3 that it would signal the end if that marque, but not so. |
Another beauty John!!

That looks great. I've always loved the look of black and white ebony. So unusual and beautiful.

Awesome work so far. I have a nice set of the B&W ebony in the shop, just waiting for an opportunity. You have done the wood justice. Love the rosette and the purfling and the bevel too. Nice job.

Beautiful guitar, stunning wood, beautiful rosette. How do you bend the end grain purfling? I would think it would break easily, or is that the secret? I ask because I really like and would like to try it myself. Or maybe I should keep it simple. lol. Russ Parker

That's gorgeous like it is but I can't wait to see a finish on it. Beautiful work, John.

If you make a channel using teflon strips, build up the rest of the edge. Including the binding, THEN remove the teflon, the resulting channel can be filled with most anything. I normally make the channel. 047 inches wide thin slice the end grain a hair thinner and force it to conform to the curves. With black and white ebony it does not matter if you get occasional breaks |
