What surprises me in a thread like this when some folks view it from the perspective of there being little to do, is that this site is an acoustic guitar forum, and I can't think of a much better way to while away countless hours at home than figuring out music on the guitar.

This is not a comment about drinking (or not drinking), but about boredom that sets in from having to be at home more than pre-COVID-19, so this could be said in several of these threads.

This is the off-topic section, so I think that this topic would belong here of all places.

If anything, since my wife has had to work from home (the bulk of which is spent either on conference calls or Zoom meeting) it has greatly impeded my ability to make any noise whatsoever, much less "goofing off" playing guitar. Our home has an open floor plan with less than 2,000 sq. ft., has hollow and hollow core doors so holing myself up in the guest room is also not an option. It's also been over 90*F for the past week so I cannot play outside either. She works from 6:30am-5pm and I have been told in so many words that I need to be utterly silent. She also goes to bed at 9:30 and demands quiet after she turns the light out.

So yeah...I could go on but I think I've just talked myself into a drink!

Wow! You certainly have a challenge there. I suppose you could practice meditation for hours on end and eventually reach the point at which you could even levitate.

Another option might be to really get into reading whatever style of writing really grabs your attention so that hours pass without you noticing.

Building models might be another possibility. For that, you probably need to be sober. :)

I cringed just reading about it. It should be served cool in a (room temperature) pint glass. And spending a few weeks in Ireland, I also appreciate the importance of a proper pour.

Drink a cellar temp (or warm!!!) Budweiser and tell me it's got no taste! It's actually a pretty serious beer!

When I lived in Michigan I was a total beer snob. Bell's Two Hearted Ale was my go to, but I always had an inventory of craft stuff. Then I moved to Alabama. For a while I was a Coors light man, but now I've "moved on" to Natty light! :D It's cheap and it goes down easy on a 95* summer day (or a 30* winter night).

I dunno, the only time I could keep a room temperature American beer down was when I was 16 years old and stashing 12 packs behind our garage.
