Down By The Riverside
Gospel tune with vocal, guitars, harmonica, tambourine and Zoom the Robodrummer.
An old spiritual, dating back to pre-Civil War times according to many sources, and first appearing in print about a hundred years ago. It has been recorded by many artists in many styles. My recording was inspired by Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s, but is not much like it. There are many versions of the lyrics, so I just picked a few verses that I liked. D.H. |
Hi Dave,
Love this tune. I did not realize that this old spiritual is already 100 years old and counting. Love there guitar solo, beautiful playing, indeed!!! Your singing is so enjoyable! Thank you. Rene |
That is good stuff, Dave, and you get a great sound on your recordings :)

Thanks, Rene, Bob and Glenn for listening and commenting!
I'm glad the recording came across well - my ears are kind of shot, and I'm never exactly sure what they sound like. D.H. |
Yup...I can listen to that!
Its 'real', not someone trying to be a 'star' of sorts? Reminds me of Dean Martin sketch in Rio Lobo I think |
