TDR Equalizer
You might want to download and check a TDR's free version of its dynamic equalizer. I found it pretty neat. Here: https://www.tokyodawn.net/tokyo-dawn-labs/

WOW looks like a very powerful tool Thanks for the heads up

Thanks Rick. I've been using Fab Filter Pro EQ and several others from Acustica but would like to give this a try. Things just keep getting better and better with software.

The updated Nova GE (version 2.0.0) is a truly amazing software EQ. It does it all. 6 Bands vs 4 in the Standard Edition Parametric equalization Dynamic equalization Frequency selective compression/expansion Multiband compression/expansion Wideband compression/expansion The new enhanced Smart Operations window replaces the old Learn/Operation menu and opens up a whole range of added reference options. Anyone who tries and likes the Standard Edition will love the Gentleman's upgrade. |
Thanks, Rick. Glad it works with XP!

I have that, I really like the hi pass feature.

This thing is a lot more complicated than anything I ever need or want to use.

I'm sorry, but a lot of this, for me, is "because we can technology" that has very little to do with making good music or good audio.

I ended up buying and using FabFilter Q though the Nova demo is neat (and no doubt the Nova GE more so).
The main thing I find effective is doing a fairly narrow Q volume boost frequency sweep listening for narrow disagreeable frequencies ranges. When found then cutting the volume on those frequencies. Sometimes I lower Q value and check that way also. It can even isolate frequencies coming from just the right or left mike and work with those. Another example is one particular guitar I have has really nice fat sounding trebles but often records with a lower midrange honking sound. I zero in to find that frequency range with a volume boost and then after finding it cut it for a much better sound. |
I have the TDR equalizer, but I have no idea what does what and how to use it, other than the lo and hi pass features which I use.
Something like this looks like a college course on sound file editing and not a first or second year class. |
