Custom Ziricote/Sinker Redwood by Thomas Taylor (Solid Rock Guitar Co)
Hey there. Thread title is self explanatory. Just thought I would document with photos as we go along. I think Im going to go for loud and stealthy looking. The Ziricote is a nice back and side set and the sinker is very good looking. Going to go most of the rest of the way with ebony. Binding, fretboard, etc.

Hi Scott, I got the back braced today. Also the top is fitted to the rim. Its looking more like a guitar all the time. I can't wait to hear the Ziricote and Redwood combo- it should be awesome. I'll get some pics to you tomorrow.

sound
While it looks great, I think you'll find it is a great sounding wood combination as well. I have a redwood/zirc OM that is wonderfully rich, responsive and resonant. Looking forward to following this thread, and seeing/hearing the final outcome.

progress
Scott, I have glued on the back with e part epoxy- The ziricote seems a bit oily like cocobolo and Osage thought we.d better not take any chances.
I should be able to flush up the edges and get the tail wedge in. I'll get more photos to you soon |

I really hope so, W.D.!! I did a lot of playing and a lot of studying to pick these specs. I will try to post as many photos as I can...
