Hard case for Mini

I tried my Mini in my LTD Koa 12-Fret case. It fits! Neck supported properly; maybe a little bit of padding at the pin end is all that's needed. Now, I don't think I will use it for travel, because it's a nice case and my Koa needs it!

I'm thinking now I'll look for a 12-Fret GS case. Don't tell me I don't need one! I want one! :p

Hey you guys are making me want a hard case for my mini now! I wonder if this would work? It's a Gator case for a 3/4 acoustic. One of the user reviews says he bought it for his Baby Taylor and the Baby is case seems slightly big for it. Might be worth a look. I tried to check its dimensions and compare with the mini on Taylor's website but I couldn't determine the sizing.

Let us all know what you both end up with.

It's not tight! I'll get some pics up this afternoon. It's snug at the waist and looser at the bout!

Keep in mind that a GC hard shell case will not be allowed on an airplane as a carry on. Plus, if you are schlepping around a full size GC case why not just take your GC?

Sorry I was talking about the Gator 3/4 case Taylorgyrl posted.

I thought about that last night after I posted the link to the Gator case. I was thinking a flight case. I have two of these flight cases for my Martins. They travel very well and have survived many trips through the luggage system.

Maybe one of the classical cases would fit the mini.

Ok, I'm not "schlepping" around; whatever that's supposed to mean? I'll tell you how it is... I pack a laptop, my handbag (large) and a carry-on. I only have two hands. I want to check the guitar; period. If I can't find a hard/flight case for it, I'll buy another lower end guitar that fits the Tric case I already have; and I probably will never take my 'very expensive' GC on a flight anywhere.

I agree 100%. I want to check it.

Blueser100 11-28-2010 05:36 PM

I get that. Check it and forget it. Definitely a flight case then. By the way, "schlepping" in this context means "to haul, to drag", something I often feel like I'm doing with my luggage, guitar or otherwise. ;)

Mini in GC case. It fits, but not the best, as the case is a bit bigger at the bout. It is snug at the waist though.
