Suggest some songs

I’m bored with a lot of the stuff I play and am looking for something interesting. I’m a middling fingerstyle player/singer. I’ve played shows in bands, a duo and solo.
Since John Prine died I’ve been on a singer songwriter kick. I’ve played a lot of Prine for years, and have added a couple by Blaze Foley, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, etc.
I also play a lot of more popular stuff, fromVincent by Don McLean to “I want you back” by the Jackson 5.
I play an acoustic version of Sultans of Swing, and things like that.
I’m running low on ideas. Anybody have a suggestion?

If you don't mind going back a century or so Mississippi John Hurt was a pretty fair finger picking singer/songwriter, he might have invented the genre.

Keb Mo, Eric Bibb, Taj Mahal are in the same vein, but more contemporary.

Audiences may not be familiar with the material, but it sure is fun to play.

Have you ever heard "When the Children Cry" by White Lion? Beautiful fingerpicking song with great vocals.

I don’t know the White Stripe song, but I’ll listen now.
I play quite a lot of very old school fingerstyle blues from guys with names that start with “Mississippi, Lead, Howling, .. you get the idea.
Thankyou both for responding.

I heard a fingerstyle version of Peter Gabrialel's "Sledgehammer" the other day that blew me away. One day I plan to do something with that.

Check out Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell.

I would suggest some tunes from Jim Croce.

Hi rko
Have you listened to any Pat Donohue?

Do you just want finger style stuff? One of my favorite covers to play is Interstate Love Song by STP, Its got a cool riff with open string drones fattening up some big bends, some fun jazz chords in the verse, and a big anthemic chorus. Just a really fun song to play that sounds great on an acoustic, not fingerstyle in its original form though.

Jimmy Webb - By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Galveston, Wichita Lineman, The Highwayman, All I Know

Leon Russell - A Song For You, Hummingbird, Superstar

Guy Clark - L.A. Freeway, Boats to Build, Dublin Blues, The Guitar

David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes, Changes, Starman, Ziggy Stardust, All the Young Dudes, Heroes

Jason Isbell - Cover Me Up, Flying Over Water, Live Oak, Outfit, Relatively Easy, Songs She Sang in the Shower, Alabama Pines, Hurricanes and Hand Grenades

Tom Waits - Jitterbug Boy, New Coat of Paint, Martha, Tango Till They're Sore, Jockey Full Of Bourbon

Soul and R 'n' B tunes - Bring It On Home to Me, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Me and Mrs. Jones, Ruler of My Heart, The Tracks of My Tears, I Wish It Would Rain

Great songs, most of 'em aren't overplayed too much.

How about something else entirely. Satoshi Gogo:

If you like that, you can check out his youtube channel. He plays in standard tuning for the most part. If you want TAB, he does have links below his videos for that.

Eric Taylor is one of my favorites. He was a great singer songwriter out of Texas (originally from Georgia). He passed away in 2020 at 70. I came to hear him from an album of his songs done by Peter Cooper (also an excellent singer songwriter).

Anyway I'm really enjoying learning some of Eric's tunes.

Not much for video but here's a couple

Here's Peter Cooper covering "Prison Movie" by Eric:
