Distortion Pedal Placement
Just got a Boss DS-1 :ha: I have a T.C.Helicon Voice Live 3 X - ¿ Should I place this before my VL3X or after ? EZ : HR |
What does the T.C.Helicon Voice Live 3 X do? If it has modulation/delay effects I would put the distortion before it. I'd also try it after just to see how it sounds but I always prefer my OD/Distortion before modulation/delay effects.
Congrats on the DS-1. It's been used on tons of recordings. |
T.C.Helicon VL3X

Thanks for the feed back man : The VL3X is a monster voice and guitar FX/looper . The Cadillac of loopers so's to speak . It's got loads of T.C. Electronics stuff like the Hall Of Fame reverb and a whole lot of other guitar FX . It's vocal FX can really get wild and can also access the guitar FX too . I'll try the DS-1 both ways . Happy New Year man HR |
You'd always want to put any FX before a looper, so that the FX are recorded on the loop, and if you add/remove FX for another loop, the output form the looper doesn't change.

Does that model listen and harmonize any vocals based on the guitar chords in use? A distortion pedal before it may possibly confuse it the same way it confuses my TU-3 pedal at times if I leave my fuzz on. Just something to check on when you try it out.

It Harmonizes & Simonizes

Yes it can have that option to harmonize the vocal off the chord played with guitar or keyboard through the Aux In . EZ : HR |
