Beautiful! She's doing a great job!

I’ve learned to trust her artistic insights. You should see our cabinet scraper holder!

When she’s done decorating your shop, take her on the road. I need some hearts and rainbows in my shop too.

Indeed! Can’t have too many hearts or rainbows.

Uh-oh. I think I see some runout in the top of that tool rack. ;)

Ha! It does sorta look like runout, but instead we’ve just got white pine being white pine. (Which is a fine backdrop for young artists with felt markers, BTW.)

That's really cool. Beautiful work as always!

Just an offcut of some firewood. What can I make of it? Suggestions?

Depending on how thick and actual size, that would be great as a heel cap or even a rosette if there is enough of it, truss rod cover to match the heel cap, or just a piece of artwork!!!

Laminate it to a slab of that really light wood you made the desk from and make some Kinnaird coasters. Or cut it out the same size as your soundholes and glue it to your soundhole cutouts and make Kinnaird coasters...or any one of many other coaster ideas.

Rosette is the first thing that came to mind, but heel cap is great, too!

Make thin radial slices an use it for purfling.

What is that? Spalted pine?

nacluth 02-04-2021 03:30 PM

Here’s a rosette I put together from the spalted oak firewood. What do you think?

Perfect. Just it for purfling too. Same way

Nemoman 02-04-2021 03:46 PM

Looks pretty cool against that redwood!

BlackKeys36 02-04-2021 03:53 PM

Coasters don't work unless you leave the middle there as well...

Sounds pretty good. In fact reminds me of one of your guitars before. ;)

Well, I like it! Jeepers, step out of the shop for a day and look what turns up. (I wonder if I stay out tomorrow what lovely thing might appear?)

nacluth 02-04-2021 11:25 PM

If you stay out of the shop tomorrow, then probably an early weekend will appear. :D
