Thoughts on the new PRS SE Piezo II?

Anyone here had a chance to try one of the new PRS SE Piezo II hollowbody models? Just wondering about your general thoughts on it?

Well, there's no such animal as an SE McCarty Hollowbody Piezo, but I do have the SE Hollowbody II Piezo and it is a fantastic, versatile instrument. So much so that I sold my other guitars.

Currently, I am playing solely through a Yamaha THR 30II, but hope to get a Fishman Loudbox so I can run through both an acoustic and electric amp at the same time.

The guitar is light and resonant and having the ability to blend in acoustic tones is really fun. The only thing I would change is I wish it had a thinner neck. The fit and finish is really, really good. The flamed maple binding (including the f holes) is just beautiful. It's hard to believe that this is an SE. Also, since it's a 5-ply laminate, I don't worry so much about humidity levels in my home.

The only changes I made... added locking tuners (only for easier string changes-totally not necessary) and lampshade knobs.

HTH...

Thanks for the response! Not sure why I thought it was a McCarty variation. I am going to be looking at one today.

Well, I ended up buying one in blue. I posted a NGD.

Hey BD! Mine is that beautiful blue too.
I run the Piezo direct to my PA (3-band EQ and reverb) and the Humbuckers through a Zoom G3 effects pedal. It is really fun blending the two sources (via the volume controls on the guitar). I really like some chorus and flanger on top of the piezo. I might have to add a looper pedal on the piezo chain so I can have that "acoustic" base looping and add "electric" on the top.

The neck is fine for me.
