"Madman Across The Water" - acoustic Brandi Carlisle!
Got this link from Bob Lefsetz's blog the other day. Never really been a fan of Brandi's work, more from not hearing her than anything else - wasn't she in an all-girl band decades ago?
In any case, THIS is wonderful! A very credible cover of a not-so-easy-song-to-cover... live, on the Howard Stern Show! https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=oM...&feature=share I still don't know why I only get the link and not the opening picture/ large format to just play and watch? Sigh... |
I think you’re thinking of Belinda Carlisle, from the Go-Go’s

I really enjoyed that performance! Thanks for posting it for us...

Heard several versions of her doing that tune over the years and they've all been good. She also covers Elton's Sixty Years On.
I've been a Brandi fan since the Acoustic EP came out in '05 or so - when I heard this tune, I was hooked and had to learn it and work it into my show! |
I have listened to her first interviews with Howard. Definitely worth a look at how she came to be. She covered CSN "Helplessly Hoping" and has a great backstory where Stephen Stills in in the audience when she performed it once. She also lives up on a ranch in the PACNORWEST near a few of the PJ members. Stone Gossard's family and her family spend time together when not touring. A new better version of Jewel from the 2000's. She is pretty awesome.

I really dig Brandi Carlile. She is the real deal. Thanks for posting this. I also liked that they mic'd the guitars and did not use pickups. Sounds great!

That was awesome, BC has steadily grown into my “must listen” list.
