HK entering the battery powered market with hot-swappable batteries!

The newly announced HK Move 8 can hold two batteries to run in tandem, or swap each other out and run endlessly as one is charged while the other is in use.

Built-in IR Cab Sim?! Colour me interested.

I'm diggin the Master Volume on the unit. That's the one thing I don't like about my Bose products, they don't have a master volume.

Interesting! No word on pricing though?!

For now you can not load your own IR file... But I asked.

Anyway, this thing might deserve to be hacked in order to be able to do so...
The main question is the fixed gain stages...

MDF housing has a good chance to sound better than plastic.

lol

Seems like the digital side of it is very lacking, no parametric EQ for one

Cuki79 10-01-2020 11:19 AM

Yeah but the premium pr:o serie is made in germany unlike the nano for example so we might except a higher quality core sound.

EQ can solve every problem... And a good speaker provide less problems.

Doug Young just posted that a bad room most of the time can not EQ out.

I guess so as a bad speaker.

Maybe I wrote too fast... I do need parametric EQ for other reasons...

Yea another hard pass for me unless it sounds absolutely fantabulous. Two-knob EQs are ridiculous in this current day and age. It's rather insulting that they think the consumers cannot handle some complexity in their purchases.

Amongst the companies producing such devices, maybe only EAE knows what the professionals truly want and need.

For sure Bose and clones are prosumer products.

That's why I love my JBL so much... It's EQ power is limitless. I wish it had a better review in my favourite magazine :(

Yes, and much, much, heavier!

Whenever I carry my Bugera V22 Infinium, I wish the case was plywood instead of MDF. Still, I suspect MDF is less prone to resonance than plywood (or plastic).

In this day and age I think the controls should be digital, with both on-board controls and iOS/Android apps. If I were using this solo, I'd want a tablet mounted on my mic stand to control it. I doubt the cost would be significantly higher.

The HK is 8.5 kg so it is on par with the JBL eon one compact.

They saved weight by using an external power supply... also the weight might be without battery. Anyway it is still manageable
