NGD : Collings I-35 Deluxe

This is a new to me Collings I-35 Deluxe, this is the 3rd I-35 I’ve owned, the first two being LC models. This belonged to a gigging musician and its definitely been around the block and back. Used but loved, it came to me grimy and the finish is mostly hazed with no sheen. A little elbow grease and some Virtuoso Cleaner/Polish brought some life back, more of the flamed maple figure popping out.

Wow... nice job! What a difference. Sweet guitars. Hope you enjoy.

Sweet! Gotta love those well gigged guitars.

It's your third I-35 ... did you get rid of the other two? If so, why? You keep coming back to it.

Looks great. Well done!

Dru asked the same question I was wondering. Do you have three now or why did the other two move on?

That really cleaned up! I need to check one of those out...

Beautiful guitar! Collings guitars both electric and acoustic are some of the nicest looking, playing, and sounding instruments out there. I love the color of this one!

I actually liked them all, the first 2 i ended up trading for acoustics since my skill with electrics didn’t really justify keeping them. As far as coming back to them, I’ve had a chance to sample everything from high end custom shop Gibson/Fenders to boutique and I have a hard time finding electrics that play quite as well as a Collings (to me). The level of work from fit/finish to functionality is second to none, the finest in the business to me.

That makes sense to get rid of some nice electrics to pick up some nice acoustics (and vice-versa). Here's to this one being a keeper ... and again, congrats!

I35

Congrats! Your top is exactly the same as the back of my I35LC. Great guitars.

I got to try a few of those off the assembly line at Collings factory.
Owners could consider themselves lucky, astounding electric guitars!!
