I must try a Maton someday... not easy to find in these parts...

Beautiful! I bought a related model, EBG808TE, a couple of weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. Mine has a Sitka spruce top and Queensland maple back and sides, so probably some differences. But the build quality and playability are similar, I bet. Enjoy!

They are fabulous beasts, the 808 Maton. My EBW808 is hardwood top, more like an all Koa guitar, I am told....but I don't think I have played a Koa guitar.

Does anyone know what the naming conventions are at Maton? I know 808 is the body size/shape, and TE stands for Tommy Emmanuel. What about EBW vs. EBG? Does the E mean electronics? Or something else? What about the other two letters?
