NGD - The Loar
 

I've been looking for another electric to add to my collection recently. I really enjoy the look/sound of the Gibson ES-125 Cutaways, but definitely don't play electric near enough to warrant spending that much. But with a little bit of searching around, I found these The Loar guitars that are essentially carbon copies of the very model I was lusting after, but only cost around $550 as opposed to several thousand.

This is an LH-302T Thinbody Cutaway. It was a bit of risk as I only had YouTube videos to go off of when purchasing it in terms of sound, but after playing it for a couple hours this afternoon it definitely lives up to the great reviews I've seen. It was set up perfectly right out of the box, and it's incredibly light. The burst is very nice as well (hard to see in the bad pictures I took so I included a stock photo), really happy with this purchase.

you really should post the pics of that beautiful guitar. it looks similar to my es125tcd. two p90s and reddish colored, hollow body and two fholes.

Yeah I'll post some better pictures this weekend. Visually it really is a replica of an ES125. I read somewhere that The Loar made this model to pretty much be a copy of the Gibson so I guess it makes sense.

I honestly still can't get over how good the setup is right out of the box. It plays like butter, even better than my Tele.

Whoo! That is a peach of a guitar.

The Loar line is pretty good stuff. The fit and finish of the the woods is very good.

I've had a few on my bench, and the biggest complaint is rough frets...but they are simple to level and polish.

Yeah I have to agree. I have seen that too with some of these guitars that the frets are kind of rough. But I have to say the ones that I have played sounded really nice.
