Nobody suggested the Dazzo so far ? Installed properly it gives a much more accurate reproduction of the guitar's acoustic sound and is much less prone to feedback compared to a K&K. I used the K&K for 10 years, before that I used the rare earth blend for about ten years. IMO the Dazzo is an upgrade to them all.
The RedEye is a great tool to run with the Dazzo.
I never really liked the internal mic on the rare earth blend because it is to close to feedback (I love to use 50/50 pickup/mic). The K&K trinity mic is the best considering the price. The best sounding internal mic I used is a DPA 4061 (omni), but it is quite pricey.
I use DAZZO/DPA in several instruments (guitar, bouzouki, Weissenborn) and blend it with a Grace Felix preamp. I only need some HPF on both channels and use a QSC K8 as a personal monitor ( I like it better than the AER amps which I used before - more accurate, less feedback) - best setup I had in thirty years.

I listened to the Tonedexter clips I could find and never really liked them. A true mic is superior.

That could be an option. My luthier is really good at K&K installs so I'm starting there first (well, after having tried a clip on mic, ksm137 and the rare earth.)

If I can't get it to sound right then will pop'em off and move on to the next option. The K&K in my 000-15 sounded really good when EQ'd properly (I had a redeye, mxr 6 band eq, wampler compressor) - going to try a Headway EDM-1 this time around, hoping it will do the job with it's 3 band eq and hpf.

Sadly the K&K does NOT work with an adjustable bridge very well - the bridge (ceramic) and the two bolts/piers are *very* microphonic. The tone otherwise is what I expected from the K&K (needs eq / impedance matching.) So it's coming out tomorrow. I guess this guitar is just gonna stay acoustic.

just use a Duncan MagMic, or a Schertler AG6 with optional mic (or soundboard transducer*) , they will both allow you to use your guitar without modifying it. With good preamps they both sound pretty good. I've got a Magmic in my Weber Roundbody and it sounds good enough to get the job done.

Not accepting defeat, I decided to get a lr baggs m80 and got lucky! Surprisingly it dampens the guitar less than the fishman rare earth (or at least it dampens it more evenly - the sparkle and mids are still there.)

Plugged in and it sounds wonderful direct into my S1 Pro. Might fiddle with the pole pieces, but otherwise it's completely workable and required very litle eq. Bonus is the cream and brown faceplate almost perfectly matches my guitar's binding and sunburst- it looks pretty good!https://i.imgur.com/HJKtJ9R.jpg

Did you have to drill out the endpin jack to install it permanently?
