New Chasson Parlor Model

Finally off the to-do list and I can see why there are a lot of Parlor guitar fans out there. They are sweet.

This may be the last body shape for awhile. Someday I may want to add a concert size between the Classic and Auditorium but I'm running out of room for forms. :)

13.5" lower bout
This one is a 24" scale, Adi top, East Indian Rosewood Back/Sides

This is heading to Mandolin Brothers as soon as they dig out from under the snow.

My photography skills seem to get worse with time but these will have to do. Must be the camera.

Excellent, Kent. I'm continually excited at your shapes (the revised dread is my favorite dread), and this one also avoids all the elongation and mis-shapen bouts of many parlours.

Very nice job!

Thanks for sharing.

Phil

Beautiful design and execution Kent.

Happy New year

Beautiful guitar, Kent!!! You might try putting the guitar farther from the backdrop - that will help make the background a more homogenous texture.

I love the shape. What a great Looking guitar

Beautiful Kent!.....By the way, I like the pop-up info on the order form page of your website.

Really nice Kent. I'm not too far from Mando bros., perhaps I'll get to see it, at some point.

Chris.

A beautiful Parlor Guitar, evolved for the 21st Century!
Clean lines, modern shape, elegant appointments, beautiful woods...I can almost hear its sweet voice, just from the photos. Great job, Kent! I'll wager that this will be a popular model in your line. Happy New Year!

Thanks for all the kind words.

Phil, I know there are people who love those long, narrow shapes but I'm with you there. This is similar to a 1930's Martin 0 that I liked but I put a little extra curve in the flats and added a bit of length. But the profile still fits well in a standard 0 case which makes life a little easier.

Greg, you know I've got pictures. But I'm guessing you're just razzing me since we've talked about it so much. If not though......I'll be happy to oblige!

The backstripe pattern I flat out ripped off from my neighbor, Dake Traphagen. But Haans, I don't have your patience so I had Gurian make it up. He almost didn't have the patience either. Wouldn't guarantee that the darts would all line up. But they came out pretty good though.

Mesa, glad you like the order form. It's the first thing on my site I totally farmed out and I'm so glad I didn't have to mess with it. I'm working on linking photos to most of the options. Web sites seem like they are always a work in progress.

Simon, I'll give that a try. But I still think it's the camera.......

Chris, do stop by MB. I'd be curious what you think. Hope you're enjoying the snow!

Those elongated and "mis-shapen" bouts are what makes a guitar a parlor style in many people's opinion. What you see as a design mistake was the fashion in the 19th century.
