Not sure if this has been posted here before but it is worth a second look it it has.

That has been one of my favorite videos for a long time. I love how he plays and puts across that song.
Thanks for the reminder! - Glenn |
Yup, me too. Log time devotee of Guy Clark and Verlon was with him for many years.
As a Brit fascinated by American accents, I love to hear Verlon talk almost as much as I love to see/hear him sing/play. |
Absolutely amazing...thanks for sharing! Really loved it.

I posted that very video with Verlon a week ago in the Listen section under a thread titled "Spoken song recommendations" that was started by Daniel Grenier.

An oldie but a goodie. Verlon Thompson is a solid guitar player and a fine songwriter. That Guild sounds great in his hands.

Heh. Good one! That's how I feel with my Guilds. :D 'course the devil don't show up in my fingertips, but that's OK. ;)

I've enjoyed watching that video many times, and often wondered why Verlon chose to play that Guild rather than his "old reliable" Bourgeois for this song. I've seen him perform live upwards of fifty times or more, and I've never seen that Guild in his hands.
