dead flowers key question

Trying to figure out if changing keys for my singing makes any difference....
first version is tuned down half a step and played out of E

Second version is standard tuning played out of C

At the end of the day, not sure it makes any difference :)

Nice job. And no, for your voice, the key doesn't seem to make much difference.

Cool! :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I tried one time to sing (informally) in front of vocal teacher at a camp fire thingy. I tried a song in D and she discreetly told me that D was not a good key for me so I'm constantly trying different keys to make the most of I've got.

Yeah, I think that is what most of us do. We have a singing range and then within that range we have an area where we are most comfortable and where we get the best tonal quality. Knowing where those ranges are as a singer is important. It speeds up the process of figuring out where to pitch songs for ourselves. I deal with this issue daily.

As you note, we try our best to make the most of what we have to work with.

Glenn

Great job! I can’t really explain why but to me the second version in standard tuning sounded slightly better with your voice, although both sounded fine.

I like 'em both! :)
