Martin CS D18-12 - withdrawn
Hi All,
Here's a stunning 2012 Martin "CS-D18-12" Slope-shoulder, 12-fret, slot-head dreadnought. These were a custom shop run in 2012 that were limited to 75 made. Sound is deep, crystal-clear, great separation and "woodiness". It is also incredibly powerful. A tremendous slope shoulder, 12 fret. Summary: Hide glue construction throughout; standard 12-fret dreadnought size; old growth sinker mahogany back and sides; Adirondack spruce top; ebony fingerboard and 1920s straight bridge; one-piece mahogany neck with slotted headstock and T-bar truss rod; 1-3/4″ neck with low CS profile neck and 2-5/16″ string spacing; fossilized ivory nut, saddle and pins; 1929 Ditson 111 appointments; extra-thin finish; Waverly tuning machines with ivoroid butter bean buttons Check out Bobby Swanson’s video with another one of these, to give you an idea of the voice: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QYv3jKT7jxU This guitar is in "used but not abused" condition. It has no pick-guard, it has a few pick scratches and some finger-nail marks in that area. Has a couple small (<1/8") soft intents on the top and couple on the back, as well as a couple of light scratches here and there. All are normal play wear type of things. Minimal fret wear. NO buckle rash, key worming, cracks, repairs or anything like that!! I just want to highlight that it is not a mint collector piece but still very nice. Only other thing to mention is that the original case was pilfered by a previous owner. They originally came with a Martin Custom Shop case with satin shroud. Because of this, I bought an Ameritage Gold Series case (previously used for a Carmel brand custom guitar) , which is exceptional in every way, and retails for around $350. $withdrawn shipped within lower 48 https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4842/...4512c3b1_c.jpghttps://farm5.staticflickr.com/4808/...38c0a57f_c.jpg[/url] https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7881/...4282f842_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4855/...7b04c0d5_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7904/...503a06d6_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7841/...bc62ec17_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7813/...34f94fa9_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4914/...225220f1_c.jpg |
Very nice! Love that beautiful backside sinker mahogany. I'd buy this but I don't really need a 2nd one.

So wish I had the funds!!!

Wow, you don't see these come up for sale, and for very good reason. I own this same Martin and they are absolutely steller instruments.
Someone is in for a big surprise and will be very happy with this one. :) Good luck with the sale. |
Superdrool. GLWS.

Clearly, those who know about these rare CS models, KNOW what they are. Thanks all!

Beautiful guitar and a great seller.

Had a Martin D18-VS at one time, close to the same thing. Man it was a cannon!
|
Wow! Great looking woods put together in a simple but beautiful build. Just looks like it would sound like it looks! GLWTS..
|
Beautiful! These have the most pure fundamental mahogany tone ever; quick, straightforward, and sharp as a tack. IMO it’s the perfect counterpoint to the reverby overtones one gets in a rosewood dread. Crazy it’s still here - someone better snap this up or I might just buy a second!

Gorgeous design! I can feel the concussive rumble. I'm not sure I've ever seen another like it from Martin.
|
Bump. Steal on a big, light, resonant 12 fretter. Hide glue, t bar, a la authentic style

$2999 shipped USA!!!’

Wow, this beast is still available, I'm shocked,, and at a price that is a steal too.
NewPicker, don't do it, sell your car instead, keep this CS-D18-12 :) Don't know the seller, but the new owner will be amazed at what a deal this is. |
