a young kid somewhere got a hold of guitar and ended up one of our guitar playing icons. There are countless examples of that.

Ever think about that?

Yep, that is why I keep a couple of inexpensive Yamahas around, to lend out or even give away if someone really shows dedication. I loaned one out to a friend's son, he's had it for 3 years. I offered to give it to him, but he turned me down. Technically I still own it, but a part of me hopes I never see it again.

A few years back I got a '78 D55 and decide to give my '80s D50 to my grand nieces in Seattle after their father posted some pics of one playing guitar at a recital.
