New LP standard with bad nut carve..

At my local GC there was a brand new LP standard and the low E was sitting slightly off the fret board. You had to bend the string to be able to fret a note. I understand that Gibson had some QC challenges but seriously? How did this make it to a showroom floor?

LP standards aren't exactly inexpensive instruments. Hopefully this was just a one off.

Wow - any chance that the nut isn't glued in correctly and the entire nut shifted towards the low E side? Perhaps not, the string tension might not allow that to happen.

I just picked up a new LP Standard 50's from Sweetwater. Factory setup working for me for now. Resonant as heck. Loving it. :)

I received my 50s Standard a couple of weeks ago and it was flawless.

It probably made it to the show room floor fine. Something happened after that.

Made the drive up to Sweetwater last Sat and picked up my new '50s Standard in Cherry sunburst. She's perfect. :)

Sure sounds like the nut slipped, or Gibson's QC has slipped further down that slippery slope!
