How to record with a PC + shure sm57
Hi everyone,
I plan to buy a shure sm57 to record my guitar. I wanna record it through my computer. What do you guys use to connect the shure to the computer? Thanks |
Well, there are a few ways.
The cheapest way would be to use an impedance transformer into the line-in jack on your computer. You might get better results, though, with a USB Mic interface like this: http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com...ter?sku=580350 |
ferg, I'm totally impressed that you actually answered the question rather than suggesting different mics, preamps, multichannel audio interface, a standalone DAW, or analog recording using 2" tape and a vintage API console.
By the way, I sold the Fostex FR-2LE, the Zoom H2 does what I need. Fran |
Hey
Hi,
I have just read something about the Art pro audio. I might also use this preamp for my pickup :D http://www.artproaudio.com/products....&cat=1&type=79 What do you think?:) |

And, Fran - I started typing a response to your post, but I've hijacked enough threads the last couple of days ;) I'll just add my thoughts to one of the other threads I'm currently hijacking. |

Here's a couple of tracks to sample - acoustic guitar parts were recorded with a Samson C01 (cheap condenser) and the Tube pre-amp. M-Audio 2496 soundcard. wasted (25mb) let's all go to mars - intro (3.9mb) |
