THGCo 2022 "Venus" in Tropical Mango & Quilted-Sitka

Hello again, Folks...this is also a brand new guitar that was built for Tom Bowersox' BIG show held in New Braunfels, Texas. It's my "Venus" model, which is my vision of a Double-0 sized guitar, and it's currently the smallest instrument in the Two Hands Guitar Company lineup. This guitar was well received at the show, and there are many people here on the forum who have played it, and who could offer their impressions.

Due to her smaller size, this guitar is quite comfortable to play...yet she has a voice that belies her diminutive stature. In my opinion, her voice falls somewhere in the Koa realm...though not exactly the same. It features a one-piece Honduran Mahogany neck, and a 4-A quilted-Alaskan Sitka Spruce soundboard sitting atop colorfully-chatoyant, Flamed-Mango back & sides (with beautiful black spalting present). The fingerboard, bridge, front and back headstock plates, bevels & bindings are all crafted from Gabon Ebony...and the purflings are crafted from 3D-figured Flamed Maple with aqua-colored veneer lines. It has a Modified X-Fan bracing pattern underneath the soundboard, and all of the bracing has been crafted from Alaskan Sitka Spruce.

Here’s a YouTube link with a video of Carl Miner playing this guitar. It’s only an iPhone video, but it’s pretty good because it’s Carl Miner…

I had the good fortune to be working next to Joel while he was building this guitar. Let's see, I think it was the first one of his show guitars that was strung up... Right from the first E minor strum, it had a great, colorful complexity to the tone. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a Mango guitar to sound so completely awesome- but this one did. And it just got better and better every day. I'm still shocked that it wasn't sold at the B.I.G. show. Especially since it captivated everyone who played it. Carl Miner was totally smitten with it. But very few guitars did sell, and one of Joel's did. Some lucky person is going to get a lifetime guitar, for a lot less money than it's actually worth. I can't imagine anyone who comes to own this beauty EVER parting with it. I bet it's going to wind up being in the same family for three generations!

Friday bump for this little beauty that thinks it's an OM or larger!

Just an exceptional guitar that punches way above its weight class--I keep coming back to this post to drool over it!

Somebody's gonna be really happy when they give this one a home...

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Just as I shared in the other posts…I love the Christmas Season. It’s my favorite time of the year. I want to get into the spirit and start feeling “merry” a little early, so I’ve decided to add a little bit of “jingle” to someone else’s holiday season with this guitar. From now through the end of the year, I’m offering this amazing guitar at the discounted price of $6250. Email me if you’re interested, and we’ll get it shipped out in time for you and your family to sing Christmas carols around your tree.

This little gem is still available. She may be small, but her strong voice belies her petite stature. As always, I offer a 3-day trial period so there’s no risk to you if you find she isn’t a perfect fit.
