That is SUPER cool. It was my privilege to play it at Woodstock last year!

Very, very cool. A guitar this breathtaking deserves to be celebrated in print!

This may be of interest to some of you, Stewmac visited Michael Bashkin’s workshop in Fort Collins, CO to have him show them his complete building process. It is a long video that covers the entire process soup yo nuts.

Thanks for posting this excellent and informative video Bob. So well done and helpful in understanding the process by which our favorite instruments are built.

I was especially interested by your post as I recently acquired a 2021 JM in flamed European Maple and Swiss Spruce. I’ve been absolutely blown away by this guitar and now I can fully appreciate all the care, quality, detail, and skill that Michael puts into his world class guitars.

Mine has a punchy dry tone in the bass and modern warm contemporary rich tone in the trebles. Besides this sonic goodness I love the simple elegant aesthetic.

Here are a few photos.

Great video, thanks for posting.
I've had the privilege of having Michael build an Italian/Madagascar Placencia for me about fifteen years ago. Fantastic guitar and builder:)

By the way, the sharp cutaways such as this one are 'Florentine', not 'Venetian'.

Of course... Thanks for the correction...

A tip to remember the difference: Florentine is like the pointy 'tines' of a fork.
